The Afterword: But Before The Next Introduction

My publisher, Inc Magazine, has requested another book from me. Seriously? Without even knowing how this book might perform in the checkout line (or cart). You know who else would like another book from me? Jill Adams, the author of the Afterword. Flattering.

Jill Adams isn’t just one of the most talented (and kindest) Chief Marketing Officers who have walked the planet; she’s also walked the planet without leaving much destruction in her wake. That’s not easy, particularly if you’re a top-level marketer, who are often times top-level nincompoops. Jill is the CMO of El Pollo Loco, a company that serves-up healthy and fresh fast-food that isn’t in need of a healthy and fresh dose of decency because someone there, many years ago, decided that you don’t need to be a fast-talker in an industry where fast matters more than fantastic. That’s the same industry that values being steadfast in a commitment to being half-assed.

Not Jill Adams or the companies she’s worked for, including Mister Car Wash which is prominently featured in my book.

Jill has the elements of Aspasia deeply-rooted inside her. She’s a willing muse to others; a free-thinker, not a limelight hog; a listener in a world of fast talkers, many of the marketing variety; and a person who cares about other persons. Don’t believe me? Ask all the other persons.

Read Jill’s Afterword. Not because it’s flattering, which it is, but because it’s enlightening, which it also is. And remember, in just a few days you’ll be able to get your hands on my new book, and that’s when you’ll get to read Jill’s handiwork.
